China Water AAA reports

A message from Jian Xie, senior environmental specialist for the Rural Development, Natural Resources & Environment (EASRE) Sustainable Development Department at the World Bank:

We are pleased to share the World Bank policy note “Water Pollution Emergenciesin China: Prevention and Response”(in both English and Chinese). This policy note is one of outputs of the World Bank’s Analytical and Advisory Assistance (AAA): “China: Addressing Water Scarcity—From Analysis to Action”. Aiming to assist the Chinese Government in strengthening its environmental emergency prevention and response, this policy note presents an analysis of the Chinese situation and systems currently in place for the prevention of and response to pollution emergencies, as well as relevant international experience. It puts forward a set of policy recommendations for institutional reform, risk management and prevention, and emergency response and mitigation for China.
