ResponsibleChina applies for Knight News Challenge

Exciting news!

I’ve decided to take my ResponsibleChina idea to the next level, and I’ve submitted a project idea to the Knight News Challenge.

The goal is to create ResponsiblePlanet.org, a non-profit, youth-led global media project that inspires local communities to care about environmental sustainability, social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility. ResponsibleChina.org would be the first regional branch, but eventually, it would expand to other countries/regions.

I would really appreciate it if you reviewed my initial proposal, which is currently online at www.newschallenge.org under the “Young Creators” category. I submitted it as an “Open Entry,” which means people can rate my idea and leave their comments.

If you have time to leave feedback, please be as specific as possible to help me refine my proposal.

As you read, think about the following:

  • Are the goals clearly stated?
  • Is this a unique idea?
  • Is this feasible?
  • How much funding is required?
  • How should I allocate the funds?
  • How will each regional site maintain accuracy and journalistic integrity?
  • What sort of sponsors/partners should I pursue?
  • How should the organization be structured?
  • Who would want to participate?
  • What makes me qualified to start a non-profit?
  • Who should I collaborate with?

Thank you for your continued support!
